(Bandar Seri Begawan, 16th) Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) issued a notice yesterday, announcing that Easy Loan BDCB/ Syarikat Loan Fast Trusted and Easy in Brunei Darussalam/Easy Cash BDCB have been included in the warning list.
The BDCB warning list is compiled based on information held by the bank at the time of publication. It lists persons (companies and individuals) who may be, or may be mistaken as, licensed, authorized, or regulated by BDCB. The bank stated that this list does not affect any further assessment by BDCB regarding the activities of the relevant parties.
BDCB also reminds the public to only deal with financial institutions that have been licensed by BDCB and to avoid any companies or individuals who carry out or provide financial services without authorization, especially those with characteristics of get-rich-quick or pyramid schemes.
Financial products and services that require BDCB approval include currency exchange, remittance, and lending. The public should note that if they deal with unlicensed or unregulated companies or individuals, they will not be protected under the financial regulatory framework.
The Financial Regulatory Commission stated it would continue to actively monitor any suspicious or unauthorized financial activities within the country.
