(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14th) Brunei police, through the Bangar Police Station, conducted a law enforcement operation in the early morning, successfully arresting four local men and seizing a large quantity of contraband and items suspected to be related to drugs.
At around 1:30 a.m. that day, police spotted a suspicious vehicle in the Radaie area of Temburong District. They tailed the vehicle to Kampong Tudung Radaie housing area and successfully intercepted the car along with its four male occupants, aged between 29 and 44.
Upon inspection, the police found various suspected smuggled contraband inside the vehicle, including 624 cans of alcoholic beverages of different brands, as well as 98 boxes of assorted firecrackers and fireworks. Further investigation led to the discovery of a black handbag containing suspected drug substances and several related apparatus in another car.
All suspects have been taken to the Bangar Police Station for further investigation by relevant law enforcement agencies.
The Royal Brunei Police Force stated that it will continue to step up patrols and carry out joint enforcement operations to combat smuggling activities and other crimes that threaten social security and public welfare. The police also remind the public not to get involved in any smuggling activities or possession of contraband, and encourage citizens to actively cooperate with law enforcement units by providing information on criminal activities to their nearest police station.
