A Chinese blogger revealed on the 17th that a mini camera had been installed in the staff changing room at a nurse station in a Tianjin hospital to secretly record nurses changing clothes, reminding medical personnel to be mindful of protecting their own privacy. The incident has drawn public attention, and on the 19th, police issued a statement saying a 23-year-old male nurse had repeatedly filmed the scenes and had been arrested.
According to HK01, the blogger said that on the 9th, multiple voyeuristic videos emerged on an inappropriate website, in which several women could be seen taking off their street clothes and changing into nurse uniforms emblazoned with four characters indicating the hospital’s name, and after their shifts, changing back. The camera appeared to be installed on a desk, at the same height as the changing room table.
The leaked videos, both original and edited, totaled about 30 minutes of footage altogether. The blogger stated that the exact time the videos were taken is unknown, and that based on the hospital’s name on the uniforms, there are four hospitals with the same name in the country, one of which is in Heilongjiang. However, by analyzing the nurses’ accents in the videos, he ultimately concluded the hospital is located in Xiqing District, Tianjin.
On the 11th, he reported the situation he discovered to the Tianjin police, which attracted high level attention. Afterwards, the police ordered the local precinct to carry out a verification check.
On Friday, the Xiqing Branch of Tianjin Public Security Bureau issued a statement saying that, in response to the online voyeurism videos titled "A female nurse in a Tianjin hospital was secretly filmed," the police had launched a rapid investigation.
Through thorough investigation, on the evening of the 18th, police apprehended the person involved, Liu Moumou (male, 23 years old, a nurse at the hospital). Liu confessed to repeatedly engaging in voyeuristic filming incidents in the nurse’s office and uploading the footage online. The case is currently under lawful processing.
