Johor Pagoh 3.4 Magnitude Minor Earthquake, MB: Situation Under Control, Public Urged to Stay Calm

(Johor, 28th) On Sunday morning (December 28) at 8:55 AM, a 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Bukit Kepong area in Pagoh, Johor.

“The earthquake was located 16 kilometers southwest of Pagoh and does not pose any tsunami threat to Malaysia.”

Later, Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz posted on Facebook that the situation is currently under control, and no reports of casualties or property loss have been received.

He said the state government takes public safety very seriously, and is working closely with relevant agencies to closely monitor the situation.

“I urge the public to stay calm, keep away from unstable structures, remain vigilant at all times, and follow authorities’ instructions.”
