A 20-year-old business school student in India was misled by an online video claiming that "human testicles are worth up to 12 million rupees (about 507,000 ringgit) on the black market." He hired several accomplices to kidnap a 17-year-old teenager, murdered him, and cut off his testicles. Unexpectedly, they could not find a buyer after the crime, and eventually threw the testicles into a lake. Police have now arrested the mastermind and his four accomplices.
This bizarre incident occurred in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, India.
Local police stated that the 20-year-old mastermind, Zoheb Khan, allegedly believed a series of short videos (reels) claiming human testicles have a black market value of up to 12 million rupees, and thus decided to murder someone to "harvest eggs" and make money. However, police are still investigating whether such a video actually exists.
Police said Zoheb Khan first convinced four members by claiming there was "huge demand" for testicles on the black market. He even bought white lab coats, stethoscopes, and thermometers to pretend to be a doctor and gave his men "training for organ removal," three of whom were underage.
According to police, the 17-year-old victim, Rehan, was a street vendor selling pens and keychains for a living. On August 6, two of the underage members lured Rehan with a 100 rupee reward, asking him to help with an alleged fight, then tricked him to a remote lakeshore and stabbed him to death with a knife.
Police said Zoheb Khan gave "remote instructions" via video call, guiding the other four accomplices on how to kill and cut off Rehan's testicles. After the crime, they stored the testicles in ice for up to 2 days, but were unable to sell them. Zoheb Khan then ordered the organs to be disposed of in different lakes to destroy evidence.
Police noted that after the incident, Rehan's mother reported him missing, and on August 10, police found the body in the lake, confirming his identity through tattoos. Forensic examination determined Rehan died of fatal stab wounds and that his organs had been removed.
Police have deployed divers to search for the discarded organs and are further investigating all the "potential buyers" the suspects may have contacted.
