50-year-old "Qiong Yao Girl" Derong Chen had a direct confrontation with Chinese singer Rong Wang during the rehearsal for the first performance of Mango TV's mainland show "Riding the Wind 2025" (referred to as Sister Waves 6). Being a dance novice, she struggled to keep up with the rhythm, significantly lagging behind the schedule. Her teammates politely suggested she practice more at home, at which point she indignantly snapped, "I'm someone with a temper," and "I'm really mad now," ultimately saying to Rong Wang, "You should be the team leader, I'll let you have it!" The scene was extremely awkward. During the performance, her dance was mocked by netizens as "dancing like a public square dance," while Deng Cuiwen in the audience temporarily gave up her expression management, showing a disbelieving crooked smile.
This year, 50-year-old Derong Chen rose to fame through "Plum Blossom Scar" and "Dreams Link," embodying the "Qiong Yao Girl" image. Her participation in "Sister Waves 6" attracted much attention, as she took on the role of the group leader. She collaborated with Rong Wang and Ying Huang for the first performance, performing the song and dance "Spare Me the Toil."
During rehearsals, Rong Wang, who has a professional singing background, naturally had no trouble with the dance, but Derong Chen, being in the beginners' level for dance, could not keep up with the rhythm, dragging down the rehearsal progress. Rong Wang merely suggested that she practice more at home, at which Chen's face immediately fell. In an interview, she candidly mentioned that she was genuinely furious, saying "I am someone with a temper."
