The "Comprehensive Chinese Education Building" jointly planned by Dong Zong, Jiao Zong, and the United Chinese School Committees Association (UCSCA) since 2019, has begun construction in early this month with fencing erected. The project is progressing smoothly with cooperation from all parties.
The representatives of the three organizations have previously completed thorough communication regarding the construction plan and have coordinated with New Era University College through correspondence or meetings.
In a statement on Friday, Dong Zong indicated that the board and administration of New Era University College agree with the construction plan of the Comprehensive Chinese Education Building, believing it is beneficial for the sustainable development of Chinese education in Malaysia. They are willing to cooperate with this new development, which aims to strengthen teacher training, deepen academic activities, enhance unified exam evaluations, implement educational reforms, promote cultural exchanges, and foster multicultural co-prosperity.
Dong Zong has comprehensively deliberated on issues involving the 16-month construction project, such as construction safety, traffic routing, parking planning, and logistics management. Consensus has been reached with the aforementioned parties, and reasonable and effective measures have been actively adopted to minimize the impact on the daily operations and teaching of the staff and students from the three organizations and New Era University College.
After the building is completed, Dong Zong will also formulate rules and methods for the use of each space, allowing the three organizations and the staff and students of the college, as well as various friendly parties, to hold related events.
The statement mentioned that the Comprehensive Chinese Education Building is currently under accelerated construction, including earthworks, transportation, and filling as preliminary operations. Once the construction area is cleared and ready, the foundation pilings will proceed as planned.
In terms of traffic routing, the slope connecting the grassy parking area was completed late last month to enable orderly entry and exit of vehicles during construction.
To ensure the progress of construction and safety considerations, the original entrance must be closed, while the existing exit will be converted to "two-way single-lane traffic" to facilitate daily commuting for the three organizations and college staff and students, ensuring the safe access of visitors.
Dong Zong specially reminds all vehicles passing around the construction area to slow down and pay attention to the safety of all road users.
Since Dong Zong announced the impending construction of the Comprehensive Chinese Education Building in late January this year, more than 3 million Malaysian Ringgit in donations have been enthusiastically pledged within just two months, which is encouraging.
While constructing the Comprehensive Chinese Education Building, Dong Zong is also raising funds for the "Future Education Fund," aimed at educational digital transformation, promoting the construction of smart learning environments, enhancing relevant skills development for teachers, and cultivating talents with future competitiveness to lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development of Chinese education.
