Oscar Security the Strictest in History, New Measures to ‘Sniff Out the Unusual’

Published at Mar 16, 2026 11:10 am
Amid the outbreak of war between the US and Iran, the Oscar awards ceremony has implemented the highest level of security in recent years. Anti-terror SWAT teams and armored vehicles are on standby, with more than 2,000 security personnel deployed. A large number of barriers have been set up within nearly a two-kilometer radius, and all personnel entering must pass through metal detectors, in addition to security dogs sniffing around.

As superstars step onto the red carpet, the entire block surrounding the Dolby Theatre is virtually under lockdown. The Los Angeles Police Department has dispatched SWAT teams, bomb disposal units, and bomb-sniffing dogs, with snipers stationed on nearby rooftops and aerial support monitoring the area via helicopters.
All roads around the venue were completely blocked off.
