(Thailand, 23rd) Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai (Sihasak) said after attending the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Special Meeting on the 22nd that he welcomes the resumption of negotiations on the Thai-Cambodian ceasefire issue, and that at the upcoming Border Joint Commission meeting with Cambodia on the 24th, further discussions will be held on the details of the ceasefire.
The ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Special Meeting concerning the Thai-Cambodian situation was convened in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the same day. After the meeting, Sihasak told the media that Thailand hopes to resolve the relevant issues through bilateral means. Discussions on the ceasefire issue will be transferred to the Border Joint Commission meeting, where further consultations on concrete implementation arrangements will be carried out.
Sihasak said that Cambodia had agreed to hold talks on the 24th at the border in Chanthaburi Province, Thailand.

Regarding earlier statements by US President Trump that he called to demand a ceasefire, Sihasak responded that the United States is not involved in this matter; it is something for Thailand and Cambodia to resolve on their own.
He also said that China is an important partner, but this matter must be resolved through bilateral channels between Thailand and Cambodia.
The ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Special Meeting was chaired by Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan and attended by Sihasak, Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, and foreign ministers of several other ASEAN countries.

According to a report from the Khmer-China Times, at the meeting Cambodia called on Thailand to fully reinstate the existing peace agreement and explicitly requested a ceasefire starting from midnight (24:00) on the 22nd.
The report stated, citing attending sources, that the Thai side adopted an arrogant and domineering attitude at the meeting, insisting on preconditions for a ceasefire and demanding that Cambodia submit a formal written document regarding the arrangement for a midnight ceasefire. Cambodia did not respond to this during the meeting.
