(Thailand, 23rd) A Malaysian citizen and his family were stranded in a local hotel due to the flooding in Hat Yai, southern Thailand. In urgent need to buy baby formula for their child, they sought assistance. Four male employees from “Cuti Cuti Langkawi” Sdn Bhd, who were also stranded at another hotel because of the flood, learned of the situation and wanted to help. However, as the local water level had already reached chest height, Thai police stopped them from proceeding out of safety concerns.
Abdul Ha, the company’s customer service executive, described the flood situation in a video shared in a media group, saying that at around 5pm Thai time, four of the company’s male employees learned that a Malaysian man staying at another hotel urgently needed to buy baby formula for his child and were willing to assist.
She indicated that it would take approximately 2 hours to travel from their Paradise Hotel to the hotel where the man was located.
She said that when the four employees attempted to wade through the water, the water level continued to rise and had reached chest height, so the Thai police, concerned for their safety, stopped them from proceeding further.
