(Tadau, 4th) Yesterday afternoon, a Proton Wira car lost control and fell into a valley approximately 3 meters deep, causing two men to be injured.
The accident occurred around 6:20 PM when the vehicle, traveling from Sibu towards Tadau, suddenly lost control, veered towards the left shoulder of the road, and fell into the valley.
A spokesperson for the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Center stated that based on the preliminary inspection using the S.A.V.E.R concept, members of the public at the scene successfully rescued one of the injured adult males.
“The injured person was then handed over to the Tadusa medical team of the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM) for further treatment,” the spokesperson mentioned in today's statement.
The other injured person was trapped under the rear of the vehicle. After arriving on the scene, the fire department used road traffic accident (R.T.A) special equipment to carry out the rescue operation.
“The injured person was successfully rescued and carried out on a stretcher, then handed over to the medical personnel for treatment,” he said.
The rescue operation ended at 6:54 PM, and the firefighters left after ensuring that the scene was completely safe and posed no further risk.
