(Kota Kinabalu, 3rd) Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar stated that Thailand and Cambodia chose Malaysia as the site for their peace talks because of our country’s political stability and robust economic development.
He said that as a friendly nation, Malaysia is proud to be able to assist in mediating the military conflict between these two Asian countries, thereby ensuring peace and stability in the region.
The Prime Minister said that Thailand’s Acting Defence Minister Nattaporn and Cambodia’s Defence Minister Tea Seiha are scheduled to arrive in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow to hold negotiations and in-depth discussions on several issues, in hopes of finding a solution to the conflict between the two neighbouring countries.
“Just imagine, reaching an agreement in Kuala Lumpur. It would be the first time we are able to mediate the crossfire between these two countries in Kuala Lumpur.”
He made these remarks today while officiating the closing ceremony of the 2025 National Farmers, Breeders, and Fishermen’s Day.
