A strong 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar on Friday (March 28) afternoon, with the impact felt across a wide area, including Thailand and China's Yunnan region.

According to data from the China Earthquake Networks Center, the earthquake occurred at 2:20 PM local time, with the epicenter located within Myanmar, and Yangon feeling significant tremors.


Thai residents share videos of a building shaking violently, with water cascading down like a waterfall from a rooftop pool.
After the earthquake, noticeable tremors were reported in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Thailand, with netizens uploading videos of shaking buildings on the social platform X.
