Fans who often watch Chinese reality shows like "Call Me By Fire" (披哥), "Sister Who Make Waves" (浪姐), will find host Qi Sijun (齐思钧) very familiar. He is a rising host highly promoted by Hunan TV, is 31 years old this year, known for his eloquence, quick reactions, and ability to manage the stage. He is regarded as the successor to He Jiong, and often appears on brain-game variety shows such as "Detective College" (名侦探学院). Privately, he had been in a public relationship with his girlfriend Liu Mengzhang for 6 years, never shying away from making their romance known. However, Liu Mengzhang recently revealed in a vlog chat with friends that she and Qi Sijun have broken up for half a year.
Liu Mengzhang said it took her six months to come to terms with the heartbreak before she could talk about it, admitting that she is still processing everything, but is slowly letting go and moving on. As for the reason for the breakup, she said, “The two of us had different expectations for our future lives. At the beginning of the relationship, we didn't think too much about it, or maybe we felt that being happy and content in the present was enough. But as the relationship progressed, we realized we envisioned our futures differently.” Because of this, the two ended up walking separate paths, gradually growing apart. She emphasized that it was not anybody's fault. On the night of the 21st, Qi Sijun also posted online confirming that the breakup was a joint decision after much consideration from both parties, expressing gratitude for each other's companionship and wishing each other well for the future.
Qi Sijun and Liu Mengzhang both graduated from the Broadcasting and Hosting Art program at Communication University of China. Liu has also appeared on several programs and runs her own social media; she has over a million followers on Bilibili, though her fame is still far behind Qi Sijun's. The two were once photographed holding hands visiting temples together, but sadly, their affection has become a memory of the past.
