Iranian President Pezeshkian stated on the 21st that now is the time to end the war with the United States.
During a meeting with representatives of doctors, he said: “It is better to end the war now, because we are currently in a favorable position and can bring it to an end with dignity.”
Pezeshkian made the remarks just as the Iranian Foreign Ministry had just accused the United States of practicing “economic terrorism” and “crimes against humanity.”
He pointed out that the whole world acknowledges Iran's victory, while the United States has violated all rules and attacked schools, hospitals, and infrastructure. The U.S. now hopes to pressure Iran through a new “economic war.”
He said the United States is hated worldwide.
He also defended the memorandum of understanding reached with the United States in June aimed at ending the war, firmly stressing that it does not mean Iran's defeat.
He said: “They cannot find any terms in this agreement that show submission; all commitments concern the other party.”
U.S. President Trump announced on the 19th the implementation of the “most devastating economic measures” ever against Iran, and Treasury Secretary Besent said the next day that through the planned economic actions, the United States would “bring about the collapse of the Iranian regime.”
