Astro 2026 Chinese New Year Event Launch – Lai Lok Yi Makes Surprise Appearance in "San Xing Gong Zhao" MV

Astro once again teams up with Multimedia to launch the 2026 "Everything All Right Kudada" Chinese New Year music project, with acclaimed producer Tang Zhi Zhang at the helm once more, creating four festive songs and assembling over 60 artists to participate. Hong Kong artist Lai Lok Yi made a surprise appearance in the "San Xing Gong Zhao" MV, singing and dancing with a crowd of artists. Lai Song Feng acted as his dance teacher, joking that Lai Lok Yi “danced very well, finished in just 3 takes.” Wang Xue Jing teased that the one who didn’t dance so well was Lai Yu Han, prompting him to suggest a live PK, and the two improvised a dance-off, causing laughter throughout the venue.

On the 27th, Astro held the "Everything All Right Kudada" Chinese New Year launch and released the namesake festive album, with the Year of the Horse mascot “Kudada” officially making its debut. Lin De Rong, Yan Wei En, Huang Yi Fei, Zhuang Wen Jie, Xin Wei Lian, Guo Yan Yan, Wang Xue Jing, Yan Hui Ping, Lai Song Feng, Lai Yu Han, Xiao Wei Wei, A Ni, Huang Ming De, Li Wei Shen and a total of 26 DJs and artists gathered at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, taking turns singing "Everything All Right Kudada," "Alright Year," "Lanterns Hang on Rockets," and "San Xing Gong Zhao," letting the audience soak up the festive spirit ahead of time.

Zhuang Wen Jie joked, "I've been standing here for 12 years and finally made it to the center position," only to be confidently countered by Huang Yi Fei: "Wherever I stand, that's the center," drawing applause and cheers from the whole crowd. Veteran singer Guo Yan Yan, joining the Astro New Year song for the first time, also joked, “I guess I’m a newcomer, I’m quite afraid of offending the seniors, especially Er Ge (Zhuang Wen Jie) who just got to the center spot this year, it’s a lot of pressure.”

Lai Yu Han appeared in both MVs with a “non-true appearance.” In “Alright Year,” he showed up in ancient costume with a beard, and was teased for looking like "Dong Fang Bu Bai"; in "San Xing Gong Zhao," he transformed into "Aunty Guci," paired with Li Wei Shen. He shouted with a laugh, “I finally found my white horse prince in this MV!” Li Wei Shen replied helplessly: “Actually, I was just as surprised at why we were paired.” When asked if he felt uncomfortable during filming, Li Wei Shen responded humorously, “Of course not, but I did have insomnia after going home,” sparking laughter from all.

In line with the Spring Festival celebrations, Astro has also launched a series of limited “Kudada” themed merchandise, including blind box New Year figurines, themed T-shirts, comic books, and more. Starting from January 2026, the artists will also tour various locations in West Malaysia, interacting with the public for Chinese New Year greetings and giving away plenty of festive merchandise.
