“How can there not be a large mansion to cover all the cold scholars in the world!”

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming pointed out that to ensure that all the people in the country have their own houses and everyone has a roof over their heads, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government has spent a total of RM24.11 million from 2022 to the present to repair and rebuild as many as 1,064 old houses in the nation’s new villages under the framework of Prosperous Malaysia, highlighting the new policies of the Prosperous Malaysia government that benefit all people regardless of race!

Nga Kor Ming said this when he visited the beneficiary of the new village reconstruction project, Lin Cuiqiong, on Monday in conjunction with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government's “Caring with Love” campaign.

He stated that since the Prosperous Malaysia government took office, the Ministry of Housing has implemented new village housing repair and reconstruction projects, repairing 1,012 houses across the Peninsular states from 2022 to 2024. Additionally, they have rebuilt 43 old houses for impoverished villagers, which includes housing repair and reconstruction work in new villages in the east coast states of Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang, highlighting the Prosperous Malaysia government’s commitment to benefiting all people regardless of race or religion.

He revealed that since 2023, to help impoverished people rebuild houses, the Ministry of Housing has used the savings from the department’s frugality program to carry out free reconstruction work for villagers through the New Village Development Department. Within two years, 43 houses have been rebuilt for free, including 22 in 2023 and 21 in 2024, reflecting the Prosperous Malaysia government’s spirit of caring for the people’s hardships and being with the people.

Nga Kor Ming pointed out that he has personally led senior officials from the Ministry of Housing to inspect the conditions of the original homeowners' houses many times. Many houses were dilapidated, some even without roofs and deemed dangerous, not suitable for human habitation. Fortunately, under the Ministry of Housing’s reconstruction plan, 43 new village homeowners have finally seen a new dawn, joyfully receiving free new houses, while another 1,012 homeowners have received funds from the Ministry of Housing to repair broken houses.

Ms. Lin, who has lived in Tapah for a long time, is currently retired but unable to work due to leg pain, and her husband has passed away, living in extreme hardship and in urgent need of help.

With the coordination of the New Village Development Officer in Bidor, Ms. Lin applied for the Ministry of Housing’s house reconstruction plan last year, and fortunately, it was approved last year, finally having a free and comfortable home this year.

Nga Kor Ming emphasized that the Ministry of Housing always adheres to the “people-oriented” concept to take care of the impoverished, and the house reconstruction plan can only help those who truly need it. Anyone in need can contact the New Village Development Officer or state assemblyman to apply.
