(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14th) In order to curb immigration violations in Brunei, the Immigration and National Registration Department (JIPK) continues to actively carry out the 'Kakas JIPK 2026 Operation'.
Law enforcement agencies conducted a surprise operation targeting rental houses in the Mukim Kilanas area.
In 'Kakas 31/2026 Operation', a total of 10 foreigners were arrested and brought back to the authorities for further investigation.
It is believed that 7 of these foreigners violated Article 15(1) of the Immigration Act (Chapter 17), that is, overstaying after their immigration pass was revoked; another 4 could not present any valid documents.
Meanwhile, one foreigner is believed to have committed two offenses: violating Article 15(1), Chapter 17 of the Immigration Act (overstaying after the immigration pass was revoked), and violating Article 9(4), Chapter 17 of the Immigration Regulations (working while on a visit pass).
In addition, another foreigner was also unable to present valid documents and is deemed to have violated Article 15(2), Chapter 17 of the Immigration Regulations (working for a non-original employer); another foreigner is believed to have violated Article 36, Chapter 17 of the Immigration Act (reentering illegally after deportation).
