Public Housing Program Briefing Attracts Nearly 200 Enthusiastic Attendees

(Miri, 4th) The "People's Friendly Housing" (Program Rumah Mesra Rakyat, RMR) briefing session, jointly organized by the National Housing Corporation (SPNB) and the Miri Member of Parliament's service center, successfully took place this afternoon at the banquet hall of the Grand Palace Hotel, attracting nearly 200 attendees in an enthusiastic atmosphere.

Miri MP Chiew Choon Man attended and hosted the event in person, expressing gratitude to SPNB for their collaboration and support, allowing this beneficial plan to be effectively promoted in Miri.

He pointed out that the plan is specifically designed for individuals with a monthly income not exceeding RM 5,000, who do not own a house or live in an old house but have a land plot. It's a practical and inclusive housing assistance initiative.

"These groups are often marginalized outside of the mainstream housing market, and the RMR plan is a significant government measure to assist them in achieving their housing dreams."

Chiew emphasized that promoting affordable housing construction is one of his administrative priorities, especially in a rapidly developing city like Miri where there is a growing demand for low-cost housing. He also mentioned that he has repeatedly raised related issues in Parliament and promoted cooperation between federal and state governments to construct more public housing.

He stated that the government is concerned about the people's well-being, and housing issues are not only about economics but also impact the quality of life. The RMR plan is indeed an important reflection of the "Prosperous Malaysia" government's care for the grassroots.

Notably, Chiew also announced that another "People's Housing" briefing session conducted in Chinese will be held soon to help more Chinese citizens understand the application conditions and procedures, enabling them to make better use of this housing opportunity.

"In the future, we will continue to host briefings on various government programs, covering different fields, to help people make good use of various resources to improve their quality of life. My team and I will continue to play the role of a bridge, benefiting more Miri citizens."
