Leonardo DiCaprio, the Oscar-winning actor, starred in the film One Battle After Another, which claimed Best Picture at the 31st Critics’ Choice Awards, announced on the morning of the 5th (Malaysia time). Director Paul Thomas Anderson also took home Best Director for the same film.
Sinners swept four awards, including the newly established Best Casting/Ensemble, Best Young Actor, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Score.
In the acting categories, 'Timothée Chalamet' (affectionately known as 'Sweet Tea') stunned by beating Leonardo in One Battle After Another, winning Best Actor for Marty Supreme. Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for Hamnet, surpassing Rose Byrne’s performance in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You; Best Supporting Actor and Actress went to Jacob Elordi for Frankenstein and Amy Madigan for Weapons, respectively.
