(Hanoi, 15th) According to Vietnam News Agency, the 'Cambodia News Agency' quoted Cambodian Ministry of National Defense spokesperson Mam Sophat as saying on August 14th that a temporary ASEAN observer team has inspected certain areas of the Cambodia-Thailand border.
The spokesperson for the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense said the observer team is made up of defense attachés from each member state and representatives from seven ASEAN member countries, with the head of the team being a military attaché from Malaysia, the 2025 ASEAN rotating chair. Coordinated by the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense, the team has begun inspecting certain border provinces to gain an understanding of the local security situation.

Wang Yi stated that neither Cambodia nor Thailand wish for the border conflict to continue, and both are willing to resume dialogue and improve relations.
