2-Year-Old Constipated Child Defecates in UNIQLO, Influencer Parents Apologize

A Taiwanese netizen uploaded a video on social media of their daughter allegedly hiding behind a display case at the New Taipei City Luzhou branch of Japanese clothing brand UNIQLO to defecate, drawing criticism from netizens. The parents apologized on the 9th.

SET News reported that the influencer mother "Mu Xi Family," who had previously garnered attention for mother-daughter ghost costumes during Halloween events, recently took her 2-year-old daughter to a Uniqlo store to "poop" and uploaded the video to social media, claiming to have found a cure for her daughter's constipation.

The post provoked a lot of backlash from netizens, prompting "Mu Xi Family" to issue an apology statement earlier on the 9th, expressing regret for causing a negative public perception and discomfort.

● Police Notify to Explain

Luzhou police in New Taipei City stated that concerning the case of a civilian defecating in a well-known clothing store, they will continue to identify the persons involved and notify them to provide an explanation.

In the shared video by "Mu Xi Family," the bewildered young girl is seen hiding behind the suit display, innocently telling her father, "I'm pooping, don't bother me, it feels good," as he immediately records with his phone. He even asks his daughter, "Every time you're constipated, Daddy brings you here to poop, right?" The little girl responds, "I always poop here, no one's around," and the father praises, "It's amazing, Uniqlo is great!"

In this post, a commenter claiming to be the store manager wrote, "Hello, I am the manager of Uniqlo Changrong store. First of all, I must clarify that we do not allow you to defecate on our shelves, so there's no need to thank us. We neither condone this nor understand it. Currently, all of our store products reek of your feces. Please prepare $15,455,437 to settle your actions, as the company reserves the right to pursue this matter. Subsequent assessment of business losses, shelf replacement, store closure repairs, etc., will also be communicated through our lawyer, conservatively estimated to reach 50 million NT dollars."

"Mu Xi Family"'s apology statement expressed regret for causing a poor public perception and discomfort. The post further mentioned that the child was wearing a diaper and pants, contrary to what most people assumed about defecating in public; also, it was impossible to control her timing for bowel movements. Importantly, in the video, she didn't actually defecate, only had the urge. The statement referred to the "subtle princess poop smell on the clothes" as just the author's typical posting style.

They later acknowledged the mistake of letting her climb onto the shelf and hide behind the clothes, admitting it was a parental oversight not to timely remind and stop the child, genuinely apologizing to the store and the public. The staff had kindly reminded them, and they immediately apologized and urged the child to come out. Again, they extend a heartfelt apology to Uniqlo and the public, and mentioned they have proactively reached out in hopes of sincere communication and taking appropriate responsibility.
