(China, 27th) Mainland Chinese state media CCTV reported that multiple units of the Eastern Theater Command Air Force have conducted combat-oriented training, with several H-6K bombers dispatched to the sea and airspace around Taiwan to carry out simulated confrontation training. Personnel from a regiment of the theater command’s air force said: "From the clouds, we overlooked the coastline of Taiwan, which was clearly visible."
On Sunday (October 26), the day after the Mainland Chinese-designated Taiwan Restoration Memorial Day (October 25), CCTV Military posted on Weibo that multiple Air Force units of the Eastern Theater Command recently carried out real combat training, testing the units' reconnaissance and early warning of key areas, aerial blockade, and precision strike capabilities.
The report stated: "A number of J-10s flew in combat formations to a designated target airspace, and multiple H-6K bombers were dispatched to the surrounding maritime and airspace of the Taiwan island for simulated confrontation training." The post did not specify the exact time of the exercises.
The report quoted Yu Hehai, a member of an air force brigade of the Eastern Theater Command, as saying: "Stationed on the frontlines of military struggle, we insist on focusing on complex and difficult conditions, continuously strengthening all-element, systemic, scenario-oriented training. The unit is rapidly improving its real combat capabilities to defend maritime and airspace security and safeguard national unification."
The report also quoted Yao Miling, a member of an air force regiment of the theater command, as saying: "From the clouds, we overlooked the coastline of Taiwan, which was clearly visible. With concrete actions, we defend the nation’s and territory’s integrity and safeguard the tranquility and happiness of tens of millions of people. This is our solemn commitment to the motherland and the people."
On the 80th anniversary of Taiwan’s Restoration, CCTV also released the first trailer for the movie "Battle of Penghu," which is scheduled to be released in 2026. This film is regarded as the mainland’s next psychological warfare production targeting Taiwan after the espionage drama series "Silent Glory."
