(Miri, 16th) Miri Che Lee Khor Moral Uplifting Society today handed over donations and supplies to 43 families affected by the landslide, demonstrating selfless humanitarian spirit by taking practical actions to help the victims through difficult times.
Led by Tony Pui, the head of the Miri Che Lee Khor Moral Uplifting Society, a group visited the Miri Red Crescent Society Shelter and the Miri Petronas Athletes' Village Shelter to make the handover.
Tony Pui said that after the landslide incident, the society immediately launched a relief operation and raised funds as well as daily necessities to provide the most needed assistance to the affected families.
He emphasized that the society adheres to the spirit of 'relieving the distressed and aiding the needy,' hoping that through this donation and assistance, they can provide tangible support to the victims to help them return to normal life as soon as possible.
"The donated supplies include food, daily necessities, and a sum of aid was handed to each affected family to assist them in their daily lives."
He stated that the Moral Uplifting Society will continue to pay attention to the needs of the affected families and encourage all sectors of society to lend a helping hand and assist the victims together to overcome difficulties.
He urged that in the face of natural disasters, we should unite and help each other, working together to overcome challenges.
