Consistently creating a new Chinese New Year song each year, AI FM collaborated with the rising local musician Phobe Lee to tailor a new festive song, "Counting to Snake Together," for the Year of the Snake. The song was performed by DJs including Xu Xiaowei, Chen Guojun, Deng Peiyin, Liang Jinrong, JC Xie Jincheng, Qiu Shulin, Ye Enzi, Huang Xiaohan, Li Yanhong, Zhu Minyu, YY Wei Yanying, and this year’s Bintang Ai singing competition winners Xie Jiayu, Liu Enjun, and Cai Jianle, bringing a lively New Year atmosphere.
Written, composed, and produced by Phoebe Lee, she revealed the song is filled with trendy elements combined with catchy lyrics, aiming to become a must-listen and must-sing New Year song for everyone. "In line with the Year of the Snake, we use the homophonic pun of the number ten, counting from one to ten (snake), making it easy for both adults and children to remember."
The MV crew headed out to a luxurious villa in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan for filming. The short 3-minute MV took nearly 12 hours to shoot, with no negligence on scenes, arrangements, costumes, and choreography. This year’s dance routine is more challenging, with an increased level of difficulty. The biggest challenge in filming the MV was "learning and applying on the spot." Dance instructors Deno Au and Xanthus Kok taught the DJs the movements and steps related to the song on-site, and the DJs had to quickly apply what they learned, prompting many DJs to exclaim, "Very challenging!" For costumes, they brought in well-known clothing brand Umbi Signature for tailor-made colorful outfits, adding a refreshing and youthful touch to the overall effect.
