On March 31, Iranian President Pezeshkian stated that Iran has a genuine willingness to end the war, provided that the other party meets Iran's demands, especially by making a necessary guarantee of no further aggression.
In a phone call with European Council President Costa, he said that the solution to normalizing the situation is to halt the aggressive attacks from the United States and Israel.
He reiterated that Iran has never sought tension or war at any stage, and possesses the genuine willingness needed to end this war.
He pointed out that Iran had entered negotiations with the United States with sincerity and a constructive attitude, but suffered an illegal attack midway through talks. This issue, he said, proves that the United States does not trust diplomacy and only seeks to issue orders to realize its greedy ambitions.
Pezeshkian said: "We respect the sovereignty of neighboring countries and have no intention of attacking them, but unfortunately, the United States has established military bases in these countries and launched attacks on us from their territories. These countries have failed to fulfill their international responsibility to prevent their land from being used to attack Iran."
According to Iran's Bright News Agency, Costa emphasized during the call the necessity of stopping the current conflict and tension. He stated that European countries absolutely do not support this kind of aggression against Iran, and consider it a violation of international law and international rules.
