(Bintangor, 6th) — A RM4 million upgrading project will be carried out at Bintangor Recreational Park (Taman Rekreasi Bintangor) to improve local public facilities and recreational amenities.
Meradong District Councilor Dato Chen Kuan Hoon stated that the first phase of the project will be implemented under the framework of the Rural Area Development Development Agency (RADDA), and is expected to take about 10 months to complete.
In an interview with TVS, he pointed out: "The City Council will periodically monitor the project's progress to ensure contractors complete the works according to the set schedule."
Chen Kuan Hoon made these remarks yesterday (January 5th) while attending the project's handover ceremony locally.
Therefore, he advised the public, for safety reasons, to refrain from using the recreational park during the construction period and to instead make use of relevant facilities at nearby integrated venues.
He said the scope of the project includes upgrading public toilets, the clubhouse, and jogging tracks within the park.
"The enhancements also cover the repair of several small bridges, including the red mini-bridge located within the park," he said.
In addition, the project will also include the construction of a roofed, competition-style stage to support sports, fitness, and community events.
"Children's playground facilities are also part of the upgrade plan to ensure that the park remains suitable for families and visitors of all ages," he said.
Chen Kuan Hoon added that if there is any balance left in the allocation, the authorities may consider adding other projects to further improve the facilities of Bintangor Recreational Park.
