(Tanjung Pinang, 8th) The Chairman of Indonesia's National Zakat Agency (Baznas), Noor Achmad, stated that Baznas has launched a series of entrepreneurship assistance programs aimed at improving the living standards of people across Indonesia, particularly those benefiting from zakat.
Speaking on Wednesday (May 7th) at the inauguration ceremony of the 'Baznas Health House' in the city of Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands Province, he said, 'These programs reflect Baznas's commitment to supporting the public and helping them rise from poverty.'
Noor emphasized that Baznas places special importance on rural development and has launched several initiatives to assist rural zakat beneficiaries in engaging in livestock and agricultural business, providing start-up funds, skills training, and marketing guidance to fundamentally improve poverty conditions.
In urban areas, Baznas also has several projects supporting small business development, such as the 'ZAuto' program, which helps small auto repair shops enhance service capabilities by providing tools and operating funds. The 'ZChicken' program assists entrepreneurs in the fried chicken industry, while the 'ZCoffee' program promotes the operation of coffee stalls or small cafés focusing on business driven by Baznas-branded coffee.
Additionally, Baznas supports the development of small grocery stores through the 'ZMart' program, enhancing their business capabilities.
Noor reiterated that the core goal of all these programs is to improve the living standards of beneficiaries and create more job opportunities. He also emphasized that Baznas not only provides material support but also focuses on capacity building, helping beneficiaries to continuously develop their businesses.
'These diversified assistance programs have been proven effective in improving the economic conditions of the public, especially zakat beneficiaries,' he said.
He also urged the public to actively donate to Baznas to contribute to the welfare of the society's vulnerable groups.
