On the 2nd, U.S. President Trump stated at the White House that negotiations between the United States and Iran are ongoing, and he hopes to reach an agreement through talks.

Investigation Will Bring the Truth to Light
He also pointed out that the investigation into Federal Reserve Chairman Powell will bring the truth to light.
When asked by the media whether federal prosecutor Pirro should stop investigating Powell, he said that Pirro will complete the investigation and uncover the truth about the enormous costs of the Federal Reserve building renovation project.
On January 9, the U.S. Department of Justice served a subpoena to the Federal Reserve, threatening to bring criminal charges against Powell for his testimony before the Senate Banking Committee in June 2025 regarding the Federal Reserve building renovation project.
On January 30, Trump announced his nomination of former Federal Reserve Governor Walsh as the next Fed chairman. On the same day, Senate Democratic Leader Schumer stated that if Trump continued to "retaliate" against the Fed and took legal action against Powell and another Fed governor, Cook, Republicans would not be able to push through the Senate confirmation of Trump's nomination of Walsh.
