Three Dead After Small Plane Crashes Into Residential Building in Brazil

According to confirmation from the Minas Gerais State Fire Department, a small single-engine plane suddenly lost control around noon local time on Monday in the state capital, Belo Horizonte, and crashed into a residential building, resulting in three deaths onboard.

The small single-engine plane lost control at 12:16 local time on the 4th in Belo Horizonte and crashed into a residential building. There were a total of five people onboard—the pilot and the passenger in the co-pilot seat died at the scene, while the remaining three were seriously injured.

The Minas Gerais State Hospital Foundation confirmed on Monday evening that one of the injured in the plane crash succumbed to their injuries at noon that day, raising the death toll from the accident to three.

The small plane took off from the local Pampulha Airport. According to the airport, the pilot had reported to the control tower that he encountered difficulties during takeoff.

According to records from Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency, the plane was an EMB-721C model manufactured in 1979, with a maximum capacity of five passengers in addition to the pilot.
