(Johor, 15th) Johor State Police Chief Datuk Kumar has become a victim of an AI-altered video!
Recently, a video circulating on TikTok appeared to show Kumar receiving aid from a "Datuk Abdul Malek". However, Kumar denied the video's authenticity, stating that the video was manipulated using artificial intelligence technology.
"The video claiming that aid from a person named Datuk Abdul Malek has been transferred to a bank is false and baseless."
According to a report from the Malaysian National News Agency, the Johor Police Media Group has made a report, and the authorities are investigating under Section 419 and 420/511 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
Kumar stated that Johor police take the misuse of technology, such as AI for fraud and defamation that damages reputations, very seriously.
He urged the public not to share the related video and to verify the authenticity of content before believing and sharing it on social media.
He also called on those with relevant information to contact the police to assist in the investigation.
