(Bandar Seri Begawan, 20th) The handover ceremony for the renovation and expansion project of Niah Al-Jaba Mosque was grandly held recently.
Sarawak Deputy Minister of Women, Children and Community Well-being, Rosey, presided over the ceremony at Niah Al-Jaba Mosque on the morning of the 16th of this month, witnessing the official handover of the project site to JK99 GROUP Sdn Bhd General Manager Qiu Guangjie and Manager Chen Jiaxing.
On the same morning, members of the mosque council and local Niah leaders were also present to participate and witness the handover ceremony. The project is located at Lot 850, District 8 of Niah Land Board, and is planned as a comprehensive renovation and functional expansion of the existing mosque.
According to project information, the site and project handover was completed on the 16th of this month, and work is scheduled to commence within the month, with completion expected by February 15, 2027. The project includes renovation and expansion, with the rebuilt mosque set to blend Islamic traditional architectural aesthetics with modern functional design, enhancing the capacity for religious services and providing local residents with safer, more comfortable, and inclusive spaces for worship and community activities. The deep involvement of project partners also reflects the positive significance of cross-regional collaboration in infrastructure projects.
In her speech, Deputy Minister Rosey stated that this project not only involves the improvement of a faith space, but also symbolizes the government's strong commitment to multicultural community development. She looks forward to the mosque’s scheduled completion in 2027, making it a new landmark of unity, progress, and spiritual cohesion in the Niah region.
