Hong Kong's Ming Pao reported on Tuesday that on the 24th, China's Military Procurement Network issued a notice soliciting reports of irregular procurement issues within Rocket Force units. Ming Pao pointed out that this means that although four consecutive Rocket Force commanders—Wei Fenghe, Zhou Yaning, Li Yuchao, and Wang Houbin—have been brought down, the Rocket Force anti-corruption campaign has not ended yet.
The notice stated that in order to address issues in the Rocket Force procurement sector, and to widely accept public supervision, the authorities are now publicly soliciting information about procurement irregularities from society at large.
The Rocket Force has become a major focus of CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping's military anti-corruption campaign. Now, authorities are further intensifying scrutiny over military procurement activities. The deadline for submissions is November 30 of this year.
