(Miri, 25th) The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Chapter Welfare, Health, and Community Subcommittee, together with the Volunteer Rescue Team, visited two socio-economically challenged families in Limbang last Saturday, conducting a series of caring activities.
During the event, representatives from the Miri City Council, Shubiri and Deyan, introduced the related services provided by the city council to the two families and guided them on how to report issues to the council. This segment aimed to help community residents better utilize public resources to solve living difficulties.
To emphasize the hazards of plastic containers, the volunteer team distributed stainless steel food containers to the two families. These containers were donated by a group of anonymous donors, and the Miri Chapter took this opportunity to express sincere gratitude to them. In addition, the team also distributed dry food, clothes, soap, and other necessities, with some supplies spontaneously contributed by volunteer members.
Uma stated that such visiting activities will be held regularly, hoping more volunteers will join to positively contribute to improving the community living environment. The chapter hopes that through such caring activities, more community residents will feel cared for and encourages more people to join the ranks of volunteering, striving together for a better community.
