(Kuching, 14th) Police have arrested four suspects allegedly involved in a gang robbery and assault case at a parking lot on Padungan Road. Investigations revealed that all four have multiple criminal records, and their urine tests showed positive for drugs.

Kuching District Police Chief Alickson Naga Chabu stated that the four arrested suspects are all locals, including three men and one woman, aged between 22 and 27.

He said that this arrest operation was carried out by officers from Kuching District Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Unit (BSJD), following an investigation into a gang robbery that occurred on July 11.

"During the operation, police also seized a Honda RS150R motorcycle and three mobile phones, believed to be related to the case and will be used as evidence for the investigation."

In a statement issued today, he pointed out that urine screening results showed all four suspects tested positive for drugs.

Further investigation revealed that all four possess criminal records involving offenses under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, Penal Code, and Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.

"One of the suspects is currently still wanted by the police."

He said that the four suspects have now been remanded for four days by court order to assist police in further investigation.

He noted that the police are currently investigating this case under Section 394 of the Penal Code (robbery causing hurt). If convicted, the suspects could face up to 20 years in prison, as well as additional fines or caning.

The police urge anyone with relevant information about the case to call the Kuching District Police Headquarters Operations Room hotline at 082-244444, or go to the nearest police station to provide information to assist the investigation.
