(Miri, 25th) The 2026 FIRST LEGO League Vietnam Robotics Championship will be held from the 27th to 29th of this month in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Ten students from Chung Hua Middle School, Miri (Miri Chung Hua), will represent Malaysia and travel to Vietnam under the guidance of their teachers, showcasing the technological capabilities of local students.

FIRST LEGO League is an internationally renowned youth robotics competition organization. It is dedicated to inspiring innovation and confidence among young people through robotics competitions while cultivating talents for future technological development. Its vision is to create a society that values science and technology, encouraging the younger generation to aspire to be leaders in the tech field.
This competition is divided into two divisions: the Challenge Division and the Explore Division. The Challenge Division emphasizes teamwork and requires teams to design and program robots to accomplish assigned missions; the Explore Division focuses mainly on scientific and engineering research and application.

Miri Chung Hua principal, Lai Jialing, stated that the purpose of this event is to cultivate students’ abilities in science and technology as well as raise their awareness of innovation, helping them better adapt to the trends of 21st-century technological advancement. She pointed out that the competition not only enhances students’ problems-discovery and problem-solving abilities but also helps to strengthen their overall competence.
She said that such international events also provide students with valuable opportunities to interact and learn from participants from other countries, integrating the principles of STEM education and modern scientific knowledge into practical activities and achieving a combination of technology and life.
Lai Jialing also wished all participants great success and hoped they would bring glory to the country and return home triumphant.
