Strengthening Regional Cooperation: NCCIBD Hosts China Seminar

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 7th) The National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brunei Darussalam (NCCIBD) successfully hosted the China Seminar and Training Program Promotion at the Design & Technology Building Auditorium, Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB).
 More than 30 guests attended the event, including government officials, business leaders, representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Brunei, and other key stakeholders dedicated to regional cooperation and economic development.
NCCIBD First Vice President Abdul Halim officially announced the opening of the event and delivered an inspiring opening speech, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration.
He specifically pointed out that since November 2023, 53 NCCIBD members have participated in seminars and training programs held in China with great success, highlighting the strong partnership between Brunei and China.
Participants shared their invaluable experiences and insights gained at the seminars and training programs, which included: the China-ASEAN Regional Economic Integration Seminar (April 15-28, 2025), Training on Food Processing & Preservation Technology under the Global Development Initiative (April 24-May 23, 2025), Capacity Building for Women from Asian Countries (April 24-May 23, 2025), Capacity Building for Women from Asian Countries (June 1-May 23, 2025), as well as Capacity Building for Women from Asian Countries (June 1-May 23, 2025). Attendees were enthusiastic and expressed strong hopes to apply what they had learned to key sectors such as food, agriculture, tourism, information technology, and services.
Dignitaries present at the event included: Counsellor Shi Rongke from the Chinese Embassy in Brunei, NCCIBD Chairman Abdul Shaman, NCCIBD First Vice President Abdul Halim, DPPMB (Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce) Secretary General Hjhman, and BEBC (Brunei BIMP-EAGA Business Council) representative Hii Kok Ping.
Shi Rongke attended the event enthusiastically, was pleased with the progress made by the participants, and expressed his hope that the experience gained in China would be applied to Brunei’s development. He reaffirmed China's continued support and his confidence in future cooperation.
The event concluded with a warm speech by NCCIBD Secretary General Pg Md Fakhrullah, who emphasized the importance of ongoing cooperation and learning for the nation’s future development. Thanks were also extended to the sponsors, whose generous support played a crucial role in the success of the event.
Afterwards, the attendees took group photos and strengthened their ties for further cooperation while enjoying refreshments, further reinforcing connections for the future. This event highlights NCCIBD’s commitment to fostering international partnerships, capacity building, and supporting Brunei’s ‘Vision 2035’—the establishment of a resilient and inclusive economy.
