The Malaysian Chinese radio industry is hit with a bombshell! Veteran MY FM DJ Yen Wei En has officially announced that she will be hosting her final episode of ‘MY FM Sunshine’ on July 31, officially stepping down from her 22-year career as a full-time DJ. This marks the end of her brilliant broadcasting journey, as she bravely embarks on a new chapter in life.

Speaking about her decision to leave, Yen Wei En candidly admitted that it is in order to embrace new challenges in life. She hopes to step out of her familiar comfort zone, and to continue her mission of spreading joy to the public by promoting healthy living and environmental awareness. Reflecting on her 22-year journey, she especially thanked her colleagues who fought alongside her, particularly her long-time partner Lim Teong Yeong: “Thank you for taking care of me for 22 years, for accompanying me from a young girl to a married woman.” At the same time, she expressed heartfelt gratitude to her loyal listeners who’ve weathered storms with her, saying that the sincere interactions every morning are her most treasured memories.

Facing an uncertain future, Yen Wei En displays tremendous female strength, and encourages everyone with a striking quote: “If I can live to 80, my life is only half over. If I can step outside my comfort zone, so can you! The most important thing is to take bold action.”

To give back to listeners, starting from July 6, ‘MY FM Sunshine’ will launch a special farewell segment at 9am, revisiting classic segments and inviting former partners for surprise appearances. After August, the show will be helmed by Lim Teong Yeong and Joe Cheng Yao Zu, while MY FM is expected to announce a brand new DJ line-up in September to continue delivering a fresh listening experience.
