(Miri, 2nd) Miri Piasau Yueyou Elderly Welfare Association President Penghulu Fong Fung Kim stated that the association is a warm family for senior citizens, allowing members to gather together, make new friends, and spend a fulfilling and happy later life through mutual care and companionship.
She pointed out that the association plans to organize a “half-day tour” in May this year, taking all members to visit attractions in Miri, so that everyone can enhance interaction and relax both body and mind through this easy-going outing.
She emphasized that the focus of this activity is not on the itinerary itself, but on giving members the opportunity to reunite, happily walk together, remain physically and mentally active through interaction, and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Fong Fung Kim made the remarks while attending the Chinese New Year celebration luncheon organized by the Miri Piasau Yueyou Elderly Welfare Association yesterday morning.
She said that the activity is open to everyone regardless of status and without stress. Everyone can participate freely in singing or games. Even if you can’t sing or play, it doesn’t matter—the most important thing is to relax, enjoy the moment, and have fun.
She also reminded everyone that as the Lunar New Year approaches, they should not overwork themselves and should take good care of their health, as the most important things in life are happiness and health.
She used vivid metaphors to share the importance of health, pointing out that “happiness is wind, joy is rain; only with good health can you ‘call the wind and summon the rain’ in life; happiness is earth, auspiciousness is heaven—only with health can you stand between heaven and earth and need not rely on others.”
Fong Fung Kim called on members to actively participate in association activities to create a positive, joyful, and warm elderly lifestyle together.
