(Kuching, 6th) Honorary Advisor of the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Youth Wing, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, emphasized that youth is the key driving force for Sarawak's future and called on young party members to drive Sarawak towards a more harmonious, stronger, and high-income vision by 2030 with unity and innovation as the driving forces.

He stated that as young leaders, each party member shoulders the important responsibility of shaping Sarawak's future.

"Your energy, creativity, and enthusiasm not only drive the progress of the party but also inject new hope into our community and nation. The choices made today will determine the future of Sarawak."

Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin made these remarks while addressing the 17th triennial delegate conference of the SUPP Youth Wing held in 2024.

He encouraged young party members to effectively use tools like social media, artificial intelligence, and other technological means to interact with communities, share ideas, and meet challenges.

"In the face of complex governance, socio-economic, and political issues, your perspectives are crucial as they represent a new generation's pursuit of inclusiveness, innovation, and integrity."

Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin emphasized that the road ahead is full of challenges, including socio-economic issues, climate change, and sustainable development goals.

He believes these challenges are also opportunities to promote growth, innovation, and transformation. He encouraged young party members to take active actions in fields like education, healthcare reform, and promoting entrepreneurship to sow seeds for a better future.

"Determination is the foundation of leadership," he said, "even in the face of adversity, one should uphold values and goals. Every setback is an opportunity to lay the foundation for future success."

He especially called on young party members to deeply understand the historical background of Malaysia's formation and relevant important documents, including the Malaysia Agreement 1963, the Federal Constitution, and the Sarawak Constitution.

"These documents not only outline Sarawak's rights and autonomy but also reflect Sarawak's unique culture and history. Young leaders must understand these contents to better protect Sarawak's interests."

Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin praised the leadership of Sarawak Premier Datuk Pattinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari, noting that under his guidance, Sarawak is moving towards a new era of digital and green economy.

He stated that through investment in digital infrastructure, fostering innovation, and developing renewable energy, Sarawak will achieve economic diversification, enhance economic resilience, and create a higher quality of life for the people.

He revealed the potential of hydrogen energy and sustainable aviation fuels, considering these areas as unique opportunities for Sarawak to lead Southeast Asia's green energy development.

"Efforts in the green energy sector not only reduce dependency on fossil fuels but also attract more investment and talent, building a sustainable future for our future generations."

Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin stressed that unity is SUPP's greatest advantage. He encouraged young party members to jointly tackle challenges and create an environment where every party member feels valued through mutual support, active listening, and cooperation.

"By organizing community service, hosting forums, or having dialogues with local leaders, your involvement will inspire others and bring about positive chain reactions," he added.

He reminded young party members that joining the SUPP Youth Wing is not just a political choice but a mission. He called on everyone to lead the youth with determination, integrity, and passion, fully realizing their potential and contributing to Sarawak's prosperity and development.

He firmly believes as long as Sarawak's youth can embrace challenges with unity, actively promoting innovation and reform, the high-income vision of 2030 will surely be realized, creating a brighter future for Sarawak.
