Miri City Council Places Garbage Bins in Strategic Locations

(Miri, 14th) The Miri City Council anticipates a large amount of household and bulky waste during the upcoming Lunar New Year celebrations. Therefore, it has allocated 44 roll-on/roll-off (RORO) garbage bins to residential areas. These bins are placed at 46 strategic locations across 9 areas to facilitate waste disposal for residents in those areas.

They will be placed at Taman Tunku/Lambir/Luak Zone, Jalan Luak-Bakam Zone, Jalan Riam/Lopeng Zone, Krokop/Piasau Zone, Pujut Zone, Piasau Utara/ Tudan Zone, Desa Senadin Zone, Permyjaya Zone and Lutong/ Kuala Baram Zone.

The festive cleaning campaign will start immediately and end on the 26th of this month, taking place at different locations.

The city council hopes residents will use the provided garbage bins and refrain from littering indiscriminately, especially on roadsides, road reserves, or vacant lands, as this not only impacts the cityscape but also creates potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes and other disease-carrying insects.
