Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob attended the Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters for the fifth time on Wednesday to assist in the investigation of corruption and money laundering cases related to the 'Malaysian Family' promotional contract during his tenure.
The Member of Parliament for Bera arrived at the Putrajaya Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters at 9:57 am today.
He was originally scheduled to record his statement on Tuesday, but it was postponed to today (19th).
The Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating the case under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing, and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.
The Commission's Chief Tan Sri Azam Baki previously stated that Ismail Sabri is being investigated as a suspect in the case, as approximately RM170 million in various currencies and 16 kilograms of pure gold bars valued at nearly RM7 million were seized from the residences of four of Ismail Sabri’s former officials, including one residence and three 'safe houses', leading to the former Prime Minister being named a suspect.
