(Bandar Seri Begawan, 26th) The International School Brunei (ISB) held its graduation ceremony for the Year 13 students of the Class of 2026 on the evening of May 23, 2026 (Saturday) at the Handicraft Centre Hall, celebrating their successful completion of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.
The ISB Class of 2026 Year 13 students completed their IB final examinations this month, and this graduation ceremony was held to commemorate this significant milestone achieved by the students.
The ceremony began with the processional of the Class of 2026 graduates, as the graduates entered the hall together.
Subsequently, ISB Executive Principal Mr. Dominic Morley delivered a welcome speech, in which he stated: "At ISB, excellence is not an exception, but the standard. Everyone strives for excellence. This is reflected in our students' thirst for knowledge, the dedication of our teachers, and our strong community that values academic rigor and inclusivity. Every student in our school is encouraged to discover their own strengths, challenge themselves, and continue to grow—not only academically, but personally. Here, diversity is embraced, different perspectives are respected, and success is defined not just by results, but by character. It is for these reasons that tonight's event is particularly meaningful."
"Tonight is also a celebration of collaboration. Every Year 13 graduate at ISB has experienced a unique journey—some started from kindergarten, some joined in primary or secondary school, and others only in Year 12. No matter where this journey began, we celebrate together our shared achievement: providing excellent education and supporting each student's fullest potential."
"To our graduates: Not only have you fulfilled the requirements of one of the world's most respected academic programs, but in doing so, you have also contributed to a vibrant and supportive community. You have demonstrated dedication, resilience, collaboration, and ambition."
Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ms Norsuriyati, attended as the guest of honour and gave the graduation address, emphasizing: "Achieving your IB Diploma is no easy feat. The IB Programme is renowned worldwide not only for its academic rigor, but also because it fosters equally important abilities. It teaches students how to think critically, to communicate thoughtfully, to question established ideas, to collaborate across cultures, and to engage meaningfully with the world around them. These qualities matter today more than ever before."
"We live in an ever-changing world. Technology is advancing at a phenomenal pace. Industries are transforming. Artificial intelligence is reshaping the way we work and communicate.
Many of you will soon be stepping into a future quite different from the one your parents faced at your age."
"Despite all these changes, certain qualities always remain valuable: integrity; adaptability; empathy; curiosity; resilience; and the ability to collaborate with, respect, and understand people from different backgrounds and perspectives."
"Success seldom depends solely on qualifications. What truly stands the test of time is character. Those who make a lasting impact are often the ones who continue to learn, stay humble, treat others with kindness and respect, and show courage in adversity. Your achievements may open doors to opportunities, but your values, attitude, and how you treat others will determine the future you create for yourself and for others."
