(Miri, 10 May) – Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA) Chief Executive Officer Datu Ismawi Ismuni stated that RECODA is committed to driving people-centric development projects and works closely with the Federal Government to implement initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of the people.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Program Bakti MADANI (PBM) 2025 Miri edition this morning, he said RECODA is honoured to be appointed as one of the co-organisers of the event, in full collaboration with the Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU) under the Prime Minister’s Department.

“This initiative is part of the PBM series, which began last year across six states in Malaysia. While the Miri edition may be smaller in scale, it features a wide array of meaningful activities, including exhibitions by federal and state agencies, job fairs, entrepreneurship and health talks, the RECODA Enterprise Carnival, MADANI Affordable Sales, a Battle of the Bands, and the People’s Concert.”

He estimated that the 3-day event would attract over 100,000 visitors from Miri, as well as from Bintulu, Limbang, Lawas, Sabah, and even neighbouring Brunei.

Ismawi extended his gratitude to all federal and Sarawak government agencies within the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) for their support. He added that the live streaming of the event allows nationwide viewers to follow the activities in real time, showcasing the power of digital media in line with the Post-COVID Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) and the Malaysia MADANI vision.

He also announced that lucky draws would be held during the event, with attractive prizes such as air fryers, smartphones, 42-inch smart TVs, tablets, SM Sport 110E motorcycles, and the grand prize – a Proton Saga 1.3 Premium car.

In addition, he encouraged the public to support local businesses by visiting 72 booths set up by RECODA’s three regional development agencies, as well as to shop for essential goods at affordable prices at the MADANI Affordable Sales by Emart and Nguong Aik Supermarket.

“We hope everyone will join us tonight for the People’s Concert featuring Alleycats, Baby Shima, and local singer Ricky Andrewson to close the night on a high note.”

On a related note, Ismawi said RECODA will also host a PBM satellite event in Subis District, featuring a joint community cleanup, a children’s colouring competition, and a Zumba fitness contest.

“This event reflects the long-standing spirit of collaboration between the federal and Sarawak governments and reaffirms our commitment to implementing people-first policies. I believe that under the guidance of our leaders, Sarawak will continue progressing toward prosperity and harmony.”

The PBM Miri 2025 event was officially launched this morning at the Miri Indoor Stadium by Sarawak Minister of Public Works and Telecommunication Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, who represented the Premier of Sarawak.
