Australian Prime Minister Albanese arrived in Jakarta on the evening of the 14th, beginning a three-day official visit to Indonesia.

This is his first overseas visit after being re-elected.

Albanese was sworn in on May 13, officially starting his second term as Prime Minister. Upon his arrival in Jakarta, he received a grand welcome, with Indonesian Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga, and Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi among the senior officials who greeted him at the airport.

A spokesperson for the Indonesian Foreign Ministry stated that this visit, being Albanese's first foreign trip after re-election, highlights the close strategic relations between Indonesia and Australia.

In an interview with Australian media, Albanese pointed out that this trip will "send a signal to the region, showing our emphasis on this region."

During the visit, Albanese will hold a one-on-one meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo and attend a bilateral meeting with representatives from both sides.
