(Seria, 5th) Seria Chung Cheng Middle School held an Auspicious Lion Awakening and Eye-Dotting Ceremony last night in the school's hall to welcome the Lunar New Year and usher in good fortune.
The ceremony was jointly officiated in a solemn and grand atmosphere by the school’s Lifetime Honorary Chairman, Mr. Liu Xiaoyuan, Lifetime Honorary Advisors Dato Sri Shen Weixiang and Lu Shunnian, together with Chairman Chen Jinming, First Vice Chairman Cai Dinghuang, and several board members.
After the ceremony, the school also presented special excellence awards to students who scored straight As in the Primary Six Assessment, in recognition of their outstanding achievements and to encourage them to keep up their efforts.
With the Lunar New Year approaching, the school's lion dance troupe will be launching their New Year Blessing Lion Dance Visits on the first day of the Lunar New Year (February 17). Performance hours are: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, and 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
The lion dance troupe will visit homes and businesses to bring blessings and joy, adding to the festive atmosphere. To ensure the safety of the troupe members and performance quality, this year’s performances will focus primarily on the traditional 'cai qing' (plucking the greens) ritual, and we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting high-difficulty or potentially dangerous stunts.
