A sword attack occurred at a school in Fagersta, a central Swedish municipality, on the 21st, resulting in one death and three injuries, including two boys under the age of 18 who were seriously wounded.
At a press conference, Swedish police reported that the attack happened at a high school in Fagersta. The suspect was armed with a sword during the incident. At around 2 p.m. local time, police received an emergency call and rushed to the scene, opening fire while subduing and arresting the suspect.
Police said that during a subsequent inspection of the school, one deceased victim was found.
Police indicated that the suspect is an 18-year-old man and that his motive is still unclear.
According to Swedish media reports, the suspect had previously attended the school where the incident occurred. He had also been convicted of attacking other students in the past and had undergone mandatory social care in accordance with relevant Swedish laws.
