The Security Bureau reminds Hong Kong residents planning to visit or already in the country to stay alert, heighten vigilance, pay attention to safety, and avoid demonstrations or places where crowds gather.
The Hong Kong Immigration Department also stated that it has immediately checked the situation through the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Chinese Embassy in Venezuela, and the Travel Industry Authority. So far, it has not received any requests for assistance from Hong Kong residents. The department will continue to stay in close contact and closely monitor developments.
