On the 25th, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it is willing to accept mediation from Malaysia and seeks to resolve military conflict with Cambodia through negotiation.
Thai Foreign Ministry spokesman Barankura told AFP: “We are ready—if Cambodia is willing to resolve this matter through diplomatic channels, bilateral channels, or even through Malaysia, we are also willing to do so.”
However, Barankura pointed out that so far, Thailand has not received any response.
Meanwhile, Barankura told Reuters that ASEAN's current chair Malaysia, as well as China and the United States, have all proposed to arrange dialogues, but Thailand is seeking to resolve the conflict through bilateral means.
He said: “We maintain that bilateral mechanisms are the best solution, as this is a confrontation between two countries. The Cambodian side must first stop border violence. Our door remains open.”
