The sea trials of the Fujian ship are progressing steadily as planned, marking the arrival of China's era of three aircraft carriers, ensuring China "always has a reserve force."
China's CCTV News reported on the 14th that in the three years since the Fujian ship was launched, related construction and maritime work has been continuously advancing, heralding the arrival of the three aircraft carrier era.
The report quoted military commentator Wei Dongxu as saying that the successful construction of a three-carrier combat system is a significant achievement in China's military strengthening efforts, reflecting a comprehensive enhancement of defensive capabilities in the maritime direction. It is also the most important maritime combat platform for conducting both active and proactive defense.
Wei Dongxu stated that with three aircraft carriers, it is possible to utilize carrier forces simultaneously in three main directions, enhancing the mobility of the carrier strike group and providing a broader security depth.
He added: "Meanwhile, the three aircraft carriers can also rotate. For instance, one carrier may be in maintenance, another may be on standby ready to execute missions at any time, and the third may already be at sea in a maneuver deployment, actively engaged in operations. This way, in terms of carrier platform utilization, we always have a reserve force, always have a standby team."
